OTERO COUNTY ASSOCIATION OF EDUCATIONAL RETIREES
(OCAER) $500.00 FACULTY/STAFF SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

OCAER will award a $500.00 scholarship to a faculty or staff member employed by a school district in Otero count, and who are currently enrolled in a university, college degree or certification program (including National Board Certification) and meets the following criteria:

Must be a resident of Otero County.
Must be employed by a school district in Otero County
Must currently be enrolled in credited coursework that applies to your degree plan or continuing education plan.
Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher on most recent transcript.

OCAER Scholarships requirements:

1. 1. Applicant must complete the scholarship application form including all requested information.
  2. A 350- word computer-generated, well written personal statement about yourself, your dreams, your educational and career goals, and financial need.
  3. An official copy of your most recent college transcript.

***Please note, incomplete or missing information on grant application packet will keep you from being considered for this grant award.

OCAER Scholarship information:

1. 1. OCAER scholarship will be awarded directly to the applicant.
  2. Recipient will agree to attend an OCAER meeting and briefly speak about their degree and career plans.
  3. Application packet must be postmarked by April 10, 2026 to be accepted for review.
